Busy Busy Bees! 6 kittens left to their new home

Busy Busy Bees!

6 kittens left to their new homes yesterday; these 3 - Dumpling, Sansa and Gnocchi - included.

Also, my milk finally came in for Lily so she is now gaining weight and i'm not freaking out about that anymore! Yay! I'm completely sleep deprived but that's ok because I know this phase won't last forever. I'm enjoying everything as much as I can right now.

I don't truly have the time to respond to all inquiries and messages so if i've ignored yours, please don't take it personal. I'm working on editing older photos from 2 weeks ago - from before I was hospitalized and gave birth. I've a lot of catching up to do!

Happy Belated Independence Day!

It's a privilege to have the opportunity to pursue nearly any career I want. With effort, dedication and consistency, we can accomplish nearly anything here in America. I know some folks are sulking today, but not me. I'm overwhelmed and exhausted with my newborn, but I'm grateful. For the last 10 years I've build a career in a very fine niche - kitty breeding. Eventually, I will move beyond animal husbandry but this remains my current passion so please enjoy! 👊💖

What a beautiful golden color Crimson has - super red! His gorgeous doll face, mascara and blue green eyes don't leave much to be desired either. This sweet boy loves spring toys. He guards them with the cutest growl and will play with one for hours. He is very laid back and mellow otherwise. Just precious! 💓

I'm starting to get back into my new normal rhythm of things!
Here's Echo. Sweet little smoochie golden.

Yesterday my groomer showered all our kittens. Today, we take photos. Tomorrow, they visit our vet for their health certificate. I know I've been slacking on sharing kitty photos and updates. Time to catch up!

Part 2: Mon. 23 - Wed. 25 I was hospitalized fo

Mon. 23 - Wed. 25
I was hospitalized for 3 days following delivery for monitoring and recovery. I had a fever for 2 days, extreme swelling of my privates, legs and feet. The hemmoraging caused my hemoglobin level to drop to 6.8. I was told leaving with a number under 7 was against medical advice. On Tues. 24, I received a blood transfusion that caused a whole body allergic reaction - rash and hives. Benedryl and 4 hours later, my hemoglobin level was measured at 8.1. I could hardly stand or sit. I was physically exhausted and emotionally struggling. The stress and sleep deprivation hindered my milk supply. Still, Lily was healthy and that's what mattered most.

I couldn't have kept my sanity and moral without the help of my hubby - Jason, and some incredible nurses at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Jason was incredibly supportive, loving and fetched me everything I requested. I was hospitalized for so long I met both day and night shifts, weekend and week day nurses. Thankfully, all were compassionate and some were incredibly helpful and memorable. Some close relatives also showed up to visit and help.

In hindsight:
I would have preffered to labor longer at home. I wanted a natural vaginal birth without drugs or an epidural. It's not what occurred but at least it wasnt a csection. Nevertheless, the pain fades and the baby remains. Of course, she's worth it!

Part 1:

I've shared with you several kitty birth stories and now I have the opportunity to share my own. I know it's a little off topic for this page but Lily has been one of the biggest blessings of my life so here's how it started - rocky and painful - but now she's my whole heart! 🩷

Fri. 20st:

Labor started that night with the onset of weak to moderate contractions. They faded late morning. Pain prevented restful and lengthy sleep.

Sat 21st:

Minimal contractions during the day but strong contractions all night, about 20 minutes apart. Pain kept me awake all night.

Sun. 22nd:

Arrived at Sarasota Memorial Hospital around 8:30 am. Was told by OB that I was 6 cm dilated and leaving would be against medical advice. Wanted to leave and return when I was more dilated but due to fear of insurance company not covering medical expenses was hospitalized.

Contractions commenced throughout the day at moderate intensity, about 15 - 20 min apart. Doula arrived to help. At noon, cervix was more effaced but remained 6 cm dilated. Allowed doctor to break my water at 1:15 pm; was told most women give birth within 4 hours of their water breaking. Spoiler alert - took me 23 hours! Started Pitocin to induce quicker labor around 4 pm.

By that evening, contractions were immensely painful, 1 min long about 1 - 3 min apart for over an hour. Cervix was more effaced but remained 6 cm dilated. Whole body started shaking without pause.

Due to exhaustion and pain elected to receive laughing gas as mild pain killer. After half hour on laughing gas, contractions remained unbearable so i practically begged for an epidural (around 8 pm). The epidural numbed the immense and euphoric pain but I remained 6 cm dilated.

Around midnight, the Pitocin had caused Lilys heart rate to drop significantly so an emergency stabilization was performed. Atosiban, an antagonist to oxytocin, was inj into me to increase her heart rate. The nurses changed my position every 15 minutes for about an hour to stimulate Lily to reposition. Lily's heart rate increased significantly after about half an hour.

I'm EXHAUSTED so I won't post a long update right now. But here's Lily. She's finally here after 3 excruciating days of pushing. I'll post details and better photos later. Just know we're both safe, in love with each other, and grateful for all you wonderful friends who privately messaged me with anticipation. I won't respond for a few days. I'm stuck in the hospital. When I feel better I'll respond.
